Explore Boonah, surrounds and Main Range NP

To experience the charm of an original, un-spoiled, traditional small Queensland country town, look no further than Boonah. Only 45 minutes from Brisbane, the farmers sit beside newer tree-change residents and visitors in trendy cafes and historic pubs. This warm, friendly community welcomes visitors who’ve come for a relaxing day, a Scenic Rim weekend away, or to enjoy the many things to do close by.

Kalbar, Harrisville, Roadvale and Aratula are ‘ picture-postcard’ little villages, surrounded by patchwork cropped fields and grassy paddocks. This is the Fassifern Valley – famous for producing fresh food for locals, Brisbane and Queensland families. Wineries and vineyards also dot the region and its fringe of forested mountains is home to a number of the finest Queensland National Parks.

Our two dams – Lake Moogerah and Lake Maroon –  are havens for water-sport and fishing enthusiasts, while Brisbane bush-walkers and others come to enjoy our national parks and newly formed rail trail.
