Lamington National Park

Discover Lamington National Park

Graded walking tracks lead walkers to lush rainforests, hidden waterfalls, dramatic lookouts and some of the world's last remaining warm temperate rainforest and Antarctic beech (Nothofagus moorei ) cool temperate rainforest. Lamington NP is also part of the largest remaining tract of subtropical rainforest in the world – also known as the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. This outstanding Gold coast national park is home to numerous rare and endangered species of plants and wildlife.

Lamington National Park has two distinct sections

The formed-track section of Binna Burra and Green Mountains (O'Reilly's plateau) accessed via Canungra and Binna Burra – offers toilets, well-graded tracks and Lamington national park camping options. Select the walks link below for details of half-day and full day walks below and also look out for the three-day Gold Coast Hinterland Great walk which links Lamington NP with Gold Coast's Springbrook National Park.

The southern 'wilderness' section, accessed via Lost World Valley, Christmas Creek and Lamington  has no formed paths or signed treks. Experienced walkers come to enjoy the region's secluded rugged mountains, away from the crowds. While visitors can enjoy the serenity of the park from its edges, access to known walks is only recommended for experienced walkers or those with a guide. This wilderness section of Lamington NP is known for it's historical Stinson wreck and grave walks – selected 'walks' link below for details.
